The Royal Amazon is recognized as the premier fly fishing lodge in the world of peacock bass. It is located on the Agua Boa, a tributary of the Amazon with clear water and a white sand bottom and flanked by wild jungle. Anglers are attended to by a friendly Brazilian staff that are committed to service. They strive to make the accommodations and food surpass all expectations.

Peacock Bass are incredible gamefish. Their topwater strike is often ferocious and the entire fish might “fly” several feet with the fly! Larger fish are virtually unstoppable on the first run and anglers often return with stories of stripped reels, destroyed tackle and memories of giants that kept going! The river is home to three species of peacocks: the butterfly (up to 10 pounds), paca or spotted (up to 20 pounds), and the temensis (up to 24 pounds). Combine the fishing and the accommodations, and anglers cannot find a better buy in the Amazon.

November-March  $4,600
