Bahamas

The Bahamas is known for large bonefish with vast flats to hold great numbers of fish as well. Spread out over 100,000 square miles, 700 palm-fringed islands make up the Bahamas. There is great diversity between the islands in geography, the types of flats, places to stay and the “feel of the islands”. Lodges range from hardcore bonefishing to places that cater to non anglers and families. There is flexibility in length of stay at most locations. Warm hospitality, knowledgeable guides, superb fishing and a Caribbean charm all its own is why we fish the Bahamas.

Bikini Atoll

This is the most unique destination we offer. We have been fishing there since 1997. The extraordinary diversity of species with no local fishing pressure makes this ideal for adventurous anglers looking for more than a bone fishing vacation. If you want your own atoll for a week, don’t need your hand held and have lots of flies to loose on a wide variety of fish, this one is for you.

Belize

The diversity of chasing bonefish, Permit and Tarpon and numerous reef species is what we enjoy about Belize. You can concentrate on big Tarpon out of El Pescador, cruise the barrier islands on a mothership or spend a week on Turneffe Atoll fishing for a grand slam. In the over 20 years we have been fishing here, the lodging, food and guiding have changed from rustic and fun to very comfortable and world class. Non anglers and divers enjoy the natural beauty of Belize as well.

Venezuela

Venezuela has one of the most prolific fisheries in the world.  Los Roques is a premier spot to wade fish for bonesfish. There are more than 350 cays, flats and islands in this 250 square mile fishing paradise. Located 80 miles off the coast of Venezuela on Gran Roque in Los Roques National Park, fishing pressure is limited by regulation. Most anglers in the 48 states can get there in a day, making the logistics easier than closer destinations. Our friends at Sight Cast have experienced knowledgeable guides, accommodating staff, air-conditioned rooms with private baths and great food. The prime season is March through August.

Cruising the Pacific

This is the latest and coolest option for fly fishing in saltwater. You will be fishing out of a newly launched 82’ x 36’ foot catamaran. Christmas Island

A charming South Pacific atoll located 1,300 miles and 2¾ hours by jet south of Honolulu, Christmas Island is currently the most consistent bonefish destination in the world; fishing is excellent every week of the year. It is the best location for beginning flats anglers and one of our favorite bonefish destinations. You will wade and sight fish for two- to five-pound bonefish, some larger, just off the beach and in the huge lagoon. Individual catches of over 20 fish per day are not uncommon. Because Christmas Island is only 119 miles from the equator, the weather is very consistent, with 80- to 85-degree temperatures. Flats anglers will see more fish than can be counted, almost every day. The white sand bottom makes spotting fish relatively easy, even for neophytes. In some areas you will never fish water deeper than your knees. Christmas also offers several species of trevally. Trevally are similar to permit in shape and size, but unlike the finicky permit, they respond aggressively to big flies, poppers and plugs.
